Lithuania , VILNIUS
Alex and I have decided to take a break from my family, and visit Vilnius, and Riga over the next few days.
We are now Day 2 in Vilnius, and we are LOVING it so far! The city seems like what Poland was 10 years ago, which I love. The atmosphere is super pleasant and welcoming, the buildings are well kept, and people seem to really enjoy living here.
We went on a tour today, but it was for stuff “that you might miss” as opposed to the main sites, so after an hour we split apart. One interesting thing they showed us was Uzupis district, aka. the Uzupis Republic, which every year on April Fools day is considered it’s own Republic. They even give fake passport stamps! It’s really cool there, almost like a hippie commune.
Vilnius has tons of art, everywhere on the streets!It’s amazing… Gives it a really cool vibe.
This place gets a 5/5 on the tourist scale, and it makes me want to come back and do the rest of the country. I’m thinking outside the summer time to do some sauna-ing! Woo!
Off to Riga tomorrow, it’s supposed to be even more beautiful!
